hi guys just wondering if any one could tell me date of manufacture for my engine it is a 2001 f 250 7.3psd eng no is 4JU2N5029499 it is australian truck just wondering if i have forged rods or the powdered metallurgy style rods as i am pushing the engine to 440 rwhp already and while i have done heads injectors custom head gaskets etc i have not yet opened the bottom end it has 100,000 kilometers on the engine any help would be great thanks andrew

I think you missed the forged rods. You can look on the door and see a build date, that would get ya a littel closer. There might be something on the motor itself that tells ya. I belive all the forged rods where in the 99 and 2000 model trucks.

I would say becareful with the rods you have, if they aren't forged, because you are pushing the limits of what those rods can handle.

thanks for the reply but i have seen these trucks in aust 2001 trucks with 2000 built engines in them i suppose we must just get all the crap over here in oz cause our 2005 model trucks are still 7.3 and we dont even get f trucks any more untill the end of 2008

Do you know what your build date is. It should say on the inside of your door.

there is nothing in the left or right door the truck ,has had no accidents so i dont know i do that know the truck is a brazilian truck 9BF pre fix on vin no and the build date of my truck is 8th month 2001 and i just rang my mate down the road and correction his truck is 6th month 2002 model same as mine and off his serial number on his engine the engine was made in 10th month 2000 so beats me .

Later on today, one of the guys that works for ford might be able to run some of your numbers. Send Marc a PM with all of your numbers and he might be able to get you an answer. Sorry I cant do any more.
