As already said, your better of with a different brand....But I wouldnt hesitate to put a drop in on my truck, if I had to....My experience is that the full intakes are worse.
There was a drop in on my truck when I first bought it. I could never get the stock air box to close properly... so it was gone first chance I got.

Yes!

when i first bought my truck i had no idea about diesel trucks (years ago) first thing i did was put a K&N drop in... after running it for a couple of months i took it out to clean it and the whole inside of my tube had dust all over it... so yes i have experience with it...... my truck right now has a full Airaid intake and i havent had a problem since...
my work truck 7.3L has a S&B and it works great as well... it also had a K&N when i bought it and i took that piece of crap out of their....

do you have experirnace with full intake kits on a TurboCharged diesel truck?

but isnt it if you dont re-rear and just add a tuner for the lost power you put more strain on your trans with towing?

once again i agree....

i ran 3.73 with 35's for a couple of years and never had a problem... by the time you factor in how much its going to cost to regear and buy the parts it would take years to make up the diff.....

my advice is stick with the 3.73 and buy yourself a custom tuned chip instead....

not to mention your RPMS are lower so you will get better highway miles

Yea, a drop in K&N doesn't prohibit you from closing the stock air box correctly..

And yes I have had experience with intakes on diesels.....I had a K&N full intake on both my 6.4 and my 7.3, and quickly removed them, and replaced them with drop in K&N filters, and never worried about it....I also had a K&N on my dodge, and than replaced it with a AFE intake, and I also eventually replaced my K&N drop in on my 7.3 with an AFE, and then swapped that to a Ford AIS.

If your going to go with 35's you'll be fine....Driving around with 37"s and 3.73 is not such a good idea, its amazing how fast things will heat up, even just driving around town.

k&n drop ins suck they are just flat out horrible period. also i run 37" tires i use to have 4.30 gears ran those gears for about 10k miles, then switched back to 3.73 its not worth it to re gear your diesel unless you plan on running like a 40" or larger tire.
