removing muffler?

how much more power would i see from removing the muffler on the stock exhaust? how much louder would it be?

I dont know how much power you get, but i do know it sounds ALOT better. I just went straight pipe with mine and love to hear it rev up!

You will gain a few hp and a few torque....But the big difference is it sounds alot better, and it will lower EGTs, and help boost fuel economy.

DO IT the biggest benefit is the drop in EGT's and it sounds awesome

i know this sounds stupid but what does a diesel with a straight pipe sound like i have never heard one, is it extremely loud or just about as loud as the motor? can someone post a sound clip

Dont have a sound clip but, a straight piped diesel is not nearly as loud as a straightpiped gas job. The turbocharger acts as a muffler, and in some states the law is simply that a truck must have a "muffling device", and the turbo counts.
