yeah, i might get elaborate with mine though, i might get a small project box from the shack and put connectors on it an i can have the resistor wired inside the box and it would be protected that way.

Man, i get really creative when im tired.

Ya mean like don't put a 500 ohm resistor in? What happens if i do? Damage something or just wont start?
More than likely lol. I wouldn't try it with mine

I'm not THAT knowledgeable about it. But once you get into the mindset of how electricsicles work and that it's nothing more than electricity moving a certain way at a certain speed at a certain amount to a certain place at a certain time to make a certain thing happen ... you can play with it. Especially on an engine like ours. Everyone talks about how easy it is to play with a 12v common rail Cummins cause it uses no electricity to run and it's all mechanical. Well electronically controlled engines are fun too if you get it. I mean look at the wicked 6.4! Read up on how complicated that mofo is, but look at its potential, it's ridiculous.

Yessir, only have to splice on an OBS. On a Superduty you just put the resistor ends into the female terminal and shuv the male back in there.

In theory.

Cause I can't fathom how it'd be quite that easy. And that's how electrical stuff works, it SEEMS like it'd be that simple, but it never is lol! That's why I like the challenge.

I think it would be pretty easy, ill have to do some more thinking on it, but it seems like you could just wire in the potentiometer the same way you wire in a resistor (between those 2 wires, you could just splice it in a few inches from the plug to make it easier).

I bet almost anyone else that happens upon this thread is completly lost at this point. lol

That's what happens when I show up!

I thought about having one run right into the truck with some sort of stereo-volume-like variable resistor to do the mod. But then I realized that like length and gauge of wire would matter and the way the knob is made would matter and all this crap. It would definately be do-able with a patient mind that's a good thinker, and a good fluke meter. I'm sure I COULD do it but I don't have time or money or barely enough patience to do that. But it'd be wicked cool. You and I should start a company to make stuff to mod trucks for this kinda stuff. I'm getting the management degree stuff in college so I could do it LOL!
