Wait so let me get this right, the less "restriction" the restrictor puts on the circuit, the more effect it has?

I don't know at what point it hurts things but until now I haven't heard of lower than 3.9k

And it only smokes a little. My friends make fun of me and say it "queefs" (if you dont know that's basically a fart) It does NOT paste out thick black cloud of doom train smoke, but it'll puff smoke alright. That's stock tuning, stock turbo, stock injectors, nothing but intake and exhaust really.

And restriction ... if you wanna call it that, yes. That is the basics of it. A 4.4kiloOhm resistor will make more power than a 18kiloOhm resistor. I couldn't tell you how though ... I still don't get HOW it works, I just know what it does. Lol!

I know it will be steadier than mine cause it doesn't do it til it warms up. I like the 5.6 because it lopes when idleing along, it smokes enough to be bug people and make me smile, I keep smacking my defuel mark of turbo psi no prob (gotta get a fooler now!). But when you have your foot on the brake and the truck is in gear it doesn't lope it just idles a little high. It's neat.

The only thing I don't like about it is I have the hardest time going 15mph or a slow speed in OD because it is VERY touchy with the 5.6k, and it SHAKES when it idles omg... I can't set a drink on the bedrail while it idles.

You know I always write books lol! Costed me $1.05 btw for the resistor and took literally 2 minutes.

Oh and if I am not too heavy on the pedal i got 2 mpg's better CITY driving!

sorry to sound stupid but wheres this resistor go. we were gonna do it at the dfw spring meet but i and everybody else was so drunk i wouldnt let them mess with it

Watch Maintain's video of it on dieselmovies.com my buddy just couldn't understand GREEN W/ BLUE AND GRAY W/ RED til I showed it to him. It's not stupid man. But go watch that video cause there's a certain way you wanna do it to get the sensor to close back up right.

I have no clue honestly, but the beauty of this mod is it's CHEAP and completely reversible so you can try whatever you want eeeasily.

Damn right its cheap! Im orderin a pack of 500 resistors for like 12 bucks.

RadioShack.com - Cables, Parts & Connectors: Component parts: Capacitors & resistors: 500-Piece 1/4-Watt Carbon-Film Resistor Assortment

I can experiment to my hearts desire with this baby!

Hell yeah. Hey I added 10psi of boost with $1.05 can ya beat that??? I heard you can do sh!t with diodes and relays and even transistors and crap. I've heard of using potentiometers so you can literally turn the power up with a knob like nothin. I dunno how much of an electricsicles guy you are but you can tweak with aLOT of crap with that kinda stuff, you'd be surprised.

Just make sure you get "K OHM" meaning kilo Ohm, meaning in thousands of ohms of resistance, so it won't work with regular resistors, I almost made that mistake lol!

Ya mean like don't put a 500 ohm resistor in? What happens if i do? Damage something or just wont start?

Hey, with a potentiometer i could adjust the resistance on the fly right? I can just dial it in to whatever i feel like?
