Pre-filter(before the pump) needs to be the large particulate size, 12mic or 15mic otherwise the pump is sucking so hard it causes the pump to fail prematurely. The post-pump(after the pump) is the 2mic filter.

ya thats why the screens in your tank cause prematurely on your pump as well. it causes restriction.

Ok I'm planning on putting on a carter helper pump. should i put it with the stock pump or before my pre (main) pump filter?

The 2mic filter I run is the 3528 napa, it is only 7" tall where the 3674 is 9 1/2" tall.

The 3405 is 7 1/4" tall so they are about the same size. Here is a pic of my trucks system and how low the duel system hangs down. The running boards are lower then the fuel system.

Ok so if I install the helper/lift pump, I should put it after the pre pump also correct?
