READ! If you have a leveling kit!

Hey guys, just got my truck back today for the dealer. The Steering Gear Box TORE OFF THE FRAME! tHE TECHS THOUGHT IT WAS FROM THE LIFT (2"), although I have never heard of that with a leveling kit before. Cost me $700 (that includes insp. and allignment) bucks as I didn't have the time to DIY.

I don't wanna say that a leveling kit isn't safe, or a bad idea, but I would keep my eyes open! Luckily, I was in a parking lot!

Does anyone know of a way to avoid this? I have never heard of a 2" drop pitman, it almost seems like it would serve the steering better if I took out the new trac bar bracket?

Anyway, do with this info what you will!

Since they "thought" and can't figure it out, they have to blame something.

Heck

I'd keep my eyes open if I had ever heard of it before. First i've heard short of being in an accident. I dont think it has anything to do with your leveling kit.

Never heard of that happening because of a leveling kit, much less a larger lift....

I have never heard of this happening to any vehicle. No matter how tall the lift or how low to the ground the truck is.

What exactly happened, did the bolts pull through the frame. Or did the bolts break, that is the big question.

This is the first I have heard of it also. I don't totally believe it either, as this way the D-ship could take emphasis off of their company and point the finger in my direction. Although, the idea is possible because of the drag link being "too short".

I just wanted to tell my story just so people know, and to be aware!

Now you HAVE heard of it! ....jk
