What exactly happened, did the bolts pull through the frame. Or did the bolts break, that is the big question.
They seemed to have pulled outta the frame. one was broke off, but I think it broke off after it came out.

Certain vehicle models over the last 30 years have been prone to cracking the frame around the steering box, Toyota, Chevy and Jeeps to name a few but I've never seen it on a Super Duty. I think its a case of "if it can happen it will". Man made it so it can break.

I have an 86 Chevy Blazer and those body styles are prone to having the frame crack around the steering box. First time I've heard of it happening to a PSD.

What's bull****?

The frame didn't crack, the bolts just pulled out... in my case.

I had a 98 ford van with this problem. All stock e150. Looked to me like the bolts had somehow got loose and broke the bolts.

I think he was referring to the dealer's claim that your level kit caused the failure.

Their is no way a level kit can cause this period. Its not going to happen even with a lift kit..typical idiot tech.
