Mod help

I have the bed off my truck to do some body work, and i figure this is a good time to do the harpoon mod. The problem is that none of the guides tell you how to remove the lock ring from the pump. I tried turning it and prying it up, neither worked obviously. I don't wanna break it so i did take it somewhat easy on it. How do i get that thing off?

Also, i thought i read somewhere that there is other in tank mods that can be done too. What are those? Hutch mod or something?

And what is the "Banjo" mod, i read that on a thread.

Any other free or cheap mods i can do?

here is the hutch mod. It also tells you how to take the pickup off of the tank

are you talking about the ring on the tank that holds the pickup down? If so a 2x4 with a light tap on the rib of the ring will get it to turn. Dont get too crazy, you dont want to break it.

oops sorry did not read your sig....

check out craigslist. I found a free one that i just missed out on and I got mine new from a guy that works at a tranny shop for $40 He said that their supplier sent one and it did not show up so they sent a second one and then a few days after the org one showed up.

Ebay is also a good place to look. people say they get them for 100 ish all the time. even at $150 its a really good thing to get! saves you a 3k tranny...
