Air intake question!

Just wondering, from what I have always known and understand, "the more air intake you have, the better." Is this statement false in any way? The reason I ask is because I would like to know just how much airflow effects the MPG and if it can cause negative effects?

More air flow creates less restrictions making your engine a more efficient air pump. It will not adversely effect anything except the quietness, LOL, of the engine. Most intakes are louder than a stock air box.

Thats what I have been thinking all along too. I suppose what had really got me looking into it was that someone tried to tell me that at a certain point you will start giving it too much air and the computers will compensate for it by giving the engine more fuel.

True, so you let up on the throttle because it is more effiecient. It makes power easier.
