I have been having this problem as well and I sprayed the heck out of the latches with brake cleaner. Don't know which door was causing the problem so I did them all. It fixed the problem so far. Brake cleaner will clean and evaporate, WD-40 will collect more dirt and make the problem worse IMO.

lithium grease will work fine. the point i was getting across is that it needs to lubracaited with something. the only reason i didn't use LG was for the way it looks on the catch and striker, and the fact that it will sometimes get on your clothes while getting in and out of your truck.

Thats correct, and WD-40 is not a lubricant. It gets rid of moisture, hence the name Water Displacement-40.

"According to the company that makes WD-40: WD-40 literally stands for water displacement 40th attempt. That's the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who helped develop WD-40 back in 1953. Norm Larsen, was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion, a task which is done by displacing water. Norm's persistence paid off when he perfected the formula for WD-40 on his 40th try."
