Early 99 is fine also, but there is some differences such as smaller injectors smaller turbo, smaller piping to the intakes, so if you want to do mods you have to take a different approach then a 99.5 to 2003.

Oh, i know where mars hill is of course I'm born and raised in this area. Used to live in Marshall when i was little. Currently live in fairview, dunno if you know where that is or not tho.

Welcome to the site. PMRs are iffy. i dont think i was over 400 when they went but my butt is not a calibrated Dyno either. Im in New Bern on the coast been a Charlotte a couple times nice area.

how can i tell if a 99 or 2000 has pmr or is a 99.5? i want a 99.5 up without pmr. i plan to mod it quite a bit.

I believe there are instructions for it somewhere on this site, in the maintenance section or something. I really think you'd be fine without them........Its not all that easy to push 400 hp without dumping $5k+ on the truck....
