Thanks, fellas! This is exactly what I needed. All of the diesel trucks I've worked on belonged to construction companies I've worked for. They all had mileage far beyond the 100k marker. The thing is it's just so different when it comes to your own personal vehicle. "Heavy" is by far the coolest rig I've ever owned or will ever own & the thought of her growing old bothered me for some time. It's great to know that most people on the forum have some of the coolest rigs I've ever seen in my life! It's even greater that most of these cool rigs are still burnin' up the streets with over 100 large on the clock & still run like they're fresh out of the box! I really appreciate everyone's input they've given without ridicule or negative commentary. This is the boost I've been looking for. I've handed the Mrs. the keys to the 'Stang & I'm ready for life after Heavy hits the big 1-0-0!

I'm closing on 150K. Still running strong. Staying regular with the maintenance.

See my sig. I pull a 12Klb 5th wheel and it pulls without any issues.

If your truck is just hitting a 100K, it's a youngin' - Don't be afraid to run it! Treat it well - the truck will treat you well.

Just one guy's opinion.....

just a little more persuation. i am closing on 240K and haul with it all the time. usually over 10K. tooke it to illinois and back at the end of may with a trailer behind her the whole way there and back. didnt even have to change out the stock tranny until 230K. now that i am making money (just recently graduated from college) i want to go bigger with her and get more power.

this is from my illinois trip. the truck and trailer and then what was inside it all.

this is the big load i usually haul on weekends

I got 165k and she is still going strong! well my tranny died on me right after i got the truck but the last owner hauled a big horse trailer all of the trucks life and did not put a bigger cooler on it and over heated it. So the tranny would be the only part i am worried about. the engine with the right care, will run just about forever! the truck will fall apart around the engine!

My 99 has 168K on the clock and is going strong (I just bought it in Feb.) Shortly after I bought it (March/April I think) I was towing my 28' travel trailer up a grade, had to slow down because of a moron tree hugger in front of me and someone closing in on the fast lane, put the skinny pedal down and passed the hippy, still going up hill, with a heavy arse 28' camp trailer on the bumper behind me. 100K makes yours just a baby... don't worry about it.
