First time at track

Well I'm pretty sure I'll be heading to New England Dragway tonight for some entertainment and I might run my truck in the 1/4 mile. Anyone got any tips for me other that a strong 4wd boosted launch and put my pedal through the floor boards?

I'm also running a stock turbo right now because my D66 is still out being rebuilt..... so I'm expecting the times to be slightly slower than what they normally would be with the D66. I considered swapping over to stock tires for the race to give me a better time over my 35's, but I'm not going to make the change. So I'll be running everything in my sig minus the D66.

Wish me luck and if you have any advise I'd sure appreciate it!

I think you've got the idea. Stand on the brake and get some nice boost built, and Just FLOOR IT!

Well I've probably made 50 passes down my lolcal 1/8th mile strip with my truck and I've noticed one thing that really helps out is to try not to move the wheel a lot. I mean your gonna have to straighten it out a little bit but don't over steer it then have to be turning back. All that side to side movement slows your time down. I've ran my best times by just sorta letting the wheel float in my hand while going down the track. Tuck your mirrors in and pop your tailgate off, it'll help a little. AND FOR SURE TAKE THOSE 35'S OFF!!!! I mean you can run with them but your giving up some time also. Good luck!!!

I know everyone does it but Im just really nervous about running the truck that hard up to that speed in 4x4. I plan on making a 1/4 pass before summers over.

That's one of the biggest things to remember!

I've made over half a dozen 12.5 sec passes pulling easy 1.7 sixty foots this summer already. And who knows how many low 13s. As long as you don't over boost it and rip the underside out...have fun.

Now, I am a 6.0, but I launch at about 1750RPMs. This is my trucks sweet spot. Hold it there from the staging lights, and just let the boost come up on its on.

Jake, loose the 35's. Drive around the water box, do not go through it and do a burn out. If there is no water in the box disregard the previous sentence. Put it in 4wd before you approach the lights. I put mine into 4wd as I straighten up from going around the water box. Don't be afraid to make the whole run in 4wd, you will not hurt anything.
