You want to lose as much weight as possible. A lighter truck will go faster. You could even ditch your spare for the night!

Also have just enough diesel in the tank(s) to do what you gotta do. Truck full of fuel adds a bit of weight.

I can think of a few reasons but what is your explaination for not doing a burnout?

Dunno about his reason, but I dont do one either. No need with a 4wd launch, and it won't help anyways with the BFG ATs I run. All it'll do is burn rubber off of pricey tires.

First off going through the water box will get the front tires wet and they will loose traction when you launch it. The reason I say don't do a burn out is I want all of my tires to have the same amount of traction. The guys I have seen brake are the ones that do a burn outs and it is always the rear end that brakes. Which tells me the rear hooks up too hard after the burn out. I will get someone to tell me I am full of it but that is my theory and it works.

I would have enough fuel in the tank that you feel safe that it will not suck air durring the launch. I will not run without less than 1/4 tank.

Makes sense. I was thinking about not wasting expensive rubber when you will do a 4x4 launch anyway.

AWD cars usually don't go through the water box either. The only AWD car I have seen go through the box did a 4 wheel burnout afterwords. 4 wheel drive launch = no need for a burnout
