I was tired of the dealer refusing me warranty because I had mods. One month ago I filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office. My case worker told me that it is illegal in the US and my state to do this. He called me yesterday and said he spoke with the owner of the dealership and exposed his wrong doing and that I was welcome for repairs. He said if I had any more problems to call and reopen my case!!! We`don't have to take this crap from our dealers

The first dealer I had problems with called Dearborn and marked my Vin # as a void vehicle. This is suppossed to be removed although when I call the hot line they tell me these are permanet records. My CPS refund is looking good also. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything yet. Ford has the BBB handle all its disputes through a independant arbitrator. Here again, They did some things to me that we as consumers are protected from. Now if I can present the last portion with a level head I should get my $800.00 back.

Way to go RamSmoker! The dealer has NO right to void warranty. They only have a right to not do repair work IF they can prove that the mod caused the failure in question. If my windshield wiper motor went out, they couldn't not fix it because I run the Predator. The mod has to cause the failure and even then it doesn't void the entire warranty of the truck. Somewhere in here a couple months ago I actually posted the law and it's pretty cut and dry on that. Glad to hear it's working out for ya! |

I am actully in two disputes. I just won on the second one. The first one couldn't repair my truck after 12 days and the second dealer finnished in 1.5hrs. So on the first dealer I have the BBB who do Fords arbitrating digging in. The second dealer refused warranty because the first dealer "marked" my trucks vin with the factory. Are you confused yet?? Boy I am. I'm gett'n to old for this stuff. Aren't you supposed to kick back when you retire or is that grow a tire when you retire. Thanks for all the support from the group. We have strength in numbers and what one guy doesn't see could be very clear to the next. "MERRY CHRISTMAS"

Hopefully you come out in the good Ramsmoker. Dealers are pathetic now a days, rip you off on the price, then wont fix it when the time comes. My wife had a Neon that kept blowing head gaskets. When we took it back to the dealer where we bought it, they actually told her the warranty was too close to expiring so they wouldn't fix it. Needless to say, we own 3 Fords now.

There is no reason for a dealer to refuse to fix your car if it is still covered by a warranty whether it's got 2000 miles or .2 miles until it expires. That's grounds for a lawsuit.......and a beatdown of the service manager.
