Want a good diesel

I'm looking at buying a used diesel, and I know the mighty 7.3 is always a good way to go. I'm looking at a 2000 F-250, 4 door, 4x4, has 205,000 moles, truck looks well taken care of. 11" lift, 41" superswamper iroks, banks power stinger plus, a trans mod, and tuner. I drove it, rides nice, I didn't get into the throttle too much, as its not mine, but it seemed sluggish to me. Maybe because I didn't get into the throttle too much? It's turning 41s so I know that may make it slower. It also has been re-geared. He's asking $17,500 for it. Any opinions would be appreciated. It's the lariat package as well. After market stereo sells new for $1,700 that he has installed.

not for that price

7.3's aren't "fast" either

how is the front end? 7.3's are hard on ball joints, big tires just wear the front end out like nobodies business.
if its the original tranny I don't think it will last much longer either.

keep looking for 17k you can find a 7.3 with around 100k miles ,and one that isn't worn out.

Yea keep looking. I got mine with 98k miles for just under $10k. 1 owner and all maintenance done at the dealer. Sweet deal I found. You can find one too!

The average mole weighs 4 ounces so multiply that by 205,000 and you get an additional 51,250 pounds of cargo so no wonder it was sluggish. Unload all those moles and that truck will fly.

Seriously, 17K is too much. If the "tuner" is Banks also, I'd keep looking.

OK, here's everything that the truck has, I didn't have my list with me. 11" skyjacker lift, pro comp traction bars, 4.56 gears, Detroit locker in the rear, banks power trans command, banks power stinger plus, super chips flashpaq programmer, 41" superswamper irok tires, don't remember the brand of wheels.

Oh and the undercarriage has been coated as well. But I'm still looking around. I don't have to have a 7.3. I just want a good diesel truck.

Lol 200k isn't warn out for a 7.3. Not even close, even if it was beat on haha **** I've seen a 7.3's with over 400k and it has less blow by then the guys 70k 6.0!
