WOT with autoenginuity...to what extent

I understand WOT is wide open throttle however is this just pedal heavy down going up a hill without redline or pedal to the floor and let her go? Ill be honest I have never floored any of my vehicles for more then a brief second other then the "silver bullet" of my high school years which was a mazda 323 with a whopping 1.3 liter powerplant...she was a nutless wonder but reliable for a first car I guess. I consider myself a kind driver to my vehicles and never "push" them super hard and just want to do these tests right. The most I push things is on a pull in the mountains but even then I keep it respectful and take care of things. Thanks.
