02 7.3 Block Heater

Hello Everyone,

New on the site and have a question. Had a 6.0 and sold it to get my 7.3. The question I have is when I plug in the heater it pops the gfci switch in the garage. I changed the plug due to the connections being kind of corroded. Is there a way to test the heater itself to see if it is dead? I read a couple other threads that mentioned a ohm reader. How do you check the connector with it?

Thanks for any help you can give.
