Question Buying an 2000

Im buying this 2000 F-250 Super Cab. Its auto with the 7.3L .Its got 199044Km(123680.2 miles)

I will be towing about 6000-10000 pounds in a little while and am wondering how long the engine should last. I think it should last to 500 000 km at least

I want to do a few mods like cold air intake, 5 inch exauhst, gauges, and a programer.

So Im also wondering whats the best of those. I was thinking K&N for air intake, not sure on exauhst, gauges I was thinking auto meter, and programer I dont have a clue.

Any sugestions on those. And I want to shoot some smoke but no 5 miles blackout kind of idea. I will probally have a muffler and a cat but if with those I get no smoke Ill dicth them. With those can you shoot smoke??

A programer with 100-200 horsepower or settings like tow and one for fun would be great.

Get a bigger trans cooler, DIY intake, 4" exhaust, boost, pyro and trans gauge. And later on get a TW or DP chip.

Im going for a 5inch exhaust for sure. So what about a kit from banks like the Big Hoss Bundle or Power Pack??

Tans cooler is that nessicary for towing?? or atleast a good idea??

If you want to just spend the $ on on 5" that's cool but you can do a lot better then banks. Yes the bigger trans cooler is a must at min. Just look around and get a feel for what guys/gals are doing to there trucks. But don't just start throwing $ at it. unless you want to throw it my way

Find yourself a cheap aluminized 4" turbo back exhaust kit, an intake (anything but K&N) and a dp tuner, and of course guages...Banks sucks....Their is virtually no difference between a 4" and a 5" exhaust system....Youll probably lose performance with a 5"....

I don't know about that. Banks has worked out pretty well for us. My buddy's got an '05 1-ton with a six door conversion/frame stretch, and the banks big hoss pack on it. When he puts it in 4x4 he lights up both tires and just pours the smoke out. Used to have a '99 with the top Banks kit in it and could do the same thing. Did 100 mph like it was 40mph. Alternative would be a turbo back from mbrp, or stacks. And yes the 5" is more of an over 450hp mod. BUT DEFINATELY GET AN EGT AND TRANNY TEMP GAUGE!!!
