Battery cable to starter gauge

Hey guys I'm at the napa figuring some stuff out. Everyone keeps saying the gauge of wire from my batt to starter is 4ga. But mines looking like 1ga. Anyone know which it is?

Most likely 4 Gauge unless its been replaced previously. 1 Gauge is huge and unnecessary.

2000 F-250 XCLB 4x4 6 Speed, PIS 175/80's, ARP's, 910's, CNC Fuel Lines, 6637 Intake, GTP38R WW2, 4" turbo back, Hydra with Powerstruck and PHP tunes. International Up-pipes, ISSPRO Boost, EGT, HPOP and Fuel Pressure gauges. SB Clutch. MB Diesel HPOP.

I highly doubt it's 1/0 gauge, unless someone upgraded it before you got the truck. If your the original owner then I would say it just looks like 1/0 gauge due to insulation and protective conduit on it.

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust system, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

I cut back the insulation and its still thick. A diesel tech at the stealership said its big. Couldn't tell me exactly but he figured 0 or around there. I compared it to a 4ga I bought and it was definitely bigger

Just do a Google search for wire gauges and you'll find a chart that shows exactly how big each gauge is.

I can put some calipers on mine when I get home. I put copper lugs on my leads 6 months ago & can't remember how big the wire is from the battery to starter is.

2/0 from factory, I put some 3/0 on mine. Buy 90degree lugs, don't bend straight ones
