Well it has happen 2 times now (that I know of). First time was when I was teaching my wife to back a trailer where she was backing a small light trailer and turning the steering wheel "stop to stop". Second time was yesterday when I was backing a 16' flatbed with a 67 mustang body on it up a driveway. I too was having to turn tight and was turning the steering wheel stop to stop.
I look under the truck and red fluid is on the groud dripping. I can not tell if it is trans or PS fluid. Neither is low and this stops as soon as I stop backing and turning...
Any ideas or how to isolate the problem?
The truck is a 1999 with a 7.3. Truck has 249K trans has 109K and all other parts are original.
