Question coverter lock up

the only way to get the torque converter to lock up with a swicth is to make a little curcuit, you can't just put 12volts to it, why?

Blue with orange? Where did that come from?

Purple with yellow is the wire you want to use.

One other thing, it will start no matter what. The truck has to be running to build trans line pressure and line pressure is what locks the TC. Start the truck, put it in 2nd and mash the brake. Then flip the switch and it should stall the truck. If it does not stall the truck, you have the wrong wire.
