tranny life

how long do these 4r100 trannies last with regular maintenece i just rolled 153000 miles today on my all stock tranny still has the stock pan and tranny cooler. i know what your think but i dont baby my truck im actually pretty hard on it i pull a 32 ft, goose neck with a mud truck on the back about every weekend ive taken down the drag strip numerous times done tug o wars and burn outs a bunch and it still works normal and hasnt given me one problem ive changed the fluid every 30000 miles and i have a tranny temp guage and it has been over 200 a couple of times and im pretty heavy with the 140 setting on the ts chip

Wow, thats good to hear, I was kind of wondering the same thing, even though Im not even close to you in mileage (40k), but I do plan on keeping the truck a while so it would be reassuring to hear that I wont need a new tranny until it hits 150k or more .

IMO unless its a built tranny it can go at any time. Watching your temps is one of the most important things. Keep them in check. A good Valve body can help it last a bit longer as well. Some people can get 200k out of them some people get 10k out of them

That all happened in the low 300hp range. I would not even think of the power level I am at now on a stock trans
