deal or bad idea?

may have found a six position chip cheap. same exact truck as mine. owner is trading in on a new truck. is there something that could go wrong by using it on my truck? any draw backs? just wondering. only want the trailer tow and economy. don't want to spend 400.00 plus just for those two.

Yes plenty can go wrong depends on if both ECM are the same codes and how do you know what's really on that chip?

If it's cheap enough buy it and get it reflashed if your PCM numbers dont match(only thing that would be a problem or if he has an auto you have a 6speed)
