Tunes w/ stock trans

I am looking to get some tunes from PHP here soon and was worried that it might destroy my trans. It's got 195k on it but I don't plan on driving hammer down where ever I go. I plan on getting a BTS valve body here soon as well. The trans still shifts smooth and doesn't seem like it has anything wrong with it.

Let me know what you guys think.

your trans should do fine if its been well taken care of, and you dont do boosted launches with it all the time or do burnouts with it lol the valvebody will help out and is a good idea

I would just change the tuner, thats me though. I would personally go with tunes from NLTD. PHP has some good tunes but Jonathon at NLTD is a personaly favorite and ive ridden in a few trucks with different tuners and some of em cant compete with his tunes. JMHO though.

If I remember correctly I won't have to get the chip reburned for the valve body?

Nope, no re burning required for the hydra chip ever. You simply plug a USB up to the chip and reprogram yourself with the supplied software. Same with custom tunes from PHP. Not all hex codes, but several of them have modified valve body tunes too.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm running with 322K and I've got the hydra

That's what I meant. It says on their website that the only thing that requires reprogramming is upgraded injectors and turbos.

Getting custom tunes like that will help the trans last a lot longer with faster, firmer and few shifts. (since you'll be running more power)

I've heard that too. I'm excited cause I've heard it turns it into basically a whole new truck power wise.

I believe trans shifting is night and day also! Especially when towing heavy!

Its amazing how much more power you will have, my truck had over 245,000 miles when I started running the PHP Hydra.
