How should I build my truck?

So I'm new and still learning all about the 7.3 and the tricks to em.

My build list so far is..
4" turbo down pipe and 5" from there with a high flow muffler.
L99 "hybrid" turbo (don't know much about it)
UMP air intake (but going to sell it for the 6637 kit)
And I did the AIH delete.
And a built tranny.

Other then that she's stock.

I wanted a programmer but everyone tells me it will fri my tranny...can I get a custom program to where it won't even mess with the tranny?
If not I was looking at the CTS insight for my gauges and what not and put the TS 6pos chip in, will they work hand in hand?

The other is I want more boost (more then 20psi)
And is the riffraff boost fooler and unplugging the waist gate the best way to do that?

And I'm going to do the 6.0 tranny cooler install but a buddy of mine was telling me the 6.0 IC is bigger then the 7.3's and flows better and bolts in the stock mounting location. This true and has anyone done it?

This is my DD and tow rig so I still want it to get fairly good MPG (in the 17 range) but when my speed demon wants out I want it to scream... I know those two things it's normally one or the other...

I been searching around and it's ether build for MPG or build for power.

So with that in mind and in the area of what I'm shooting for, what would you do?

Build it how you want it. You're gonna be the one that ends up driving it. However if I were you with those starting mods, I would get custom tunes from PHP and probably some stage 1s. And ditch the muffler, it sounds much better.

If you don't wanna tranny tunes, it defeats the purpose of a chip IMO. If you dont have the proper shift strategies, you won't be getting the most out of your power to the ground. Go with PHP. They're great guys and know what their doing. My trans shifts super smooth with their tunes and I've got 322K on the truck. The only way a trans will get burnt out by tunes is if you drive the piss out of it or get tunes from the bottom end companies.

If you go edge, make sure you've got another tranny lined up

I have php tunes and get 25 ish psi on my stock turbo and also average about 18-20 mpg highway.

Stage 1 injectors will help with your mpg but ull also need to have your chip programmed for it.

The 6.0 tranny cooler is twice the size of the 7.3 or more 31/26/23 lines vs 13 (I think those #'s are right.

Not sure on the intercooler specifically but a lot of people swap out to the 6.0 intercoolers.

sold- 00 7.3 modded to the end.

We half to have mufflers here, and I don't think the sound is not that much different with the muffler off to have a removable muffler but might take it off and see.

So I buy almost a $600 programmer and then send it into PHP and they charge me $60 per tune on top of that?
I would want the
Mod tow,
Light tow,
Ether 65h or 80h D.D.
140hp extreme

So I'll be spending almost a grand on a programmer

And dump the money into stage1's...

A tuner with I believe 17 tunes from them is only $425. Custom tunes are $25 each. You don't need custom tunes unless you are running upgraded injectors or turbo.
