99 7.3 powerstroke

Looking at a truck to purchase and the guy is telling me that it cranks and idles but if you drive it it will die. He says oil is getting into the cylinders. Any advice would be nice. Thanks

does it smoke at idle? Sounds like fuel restriction. Bad fuel filter, plugged up mixing screen in the tank..(hutch mod).

if thats the case, i'd think the motor would be hydro'd.

Inspect the degas bottle for any other fluid then coolant...oil, fuel.
