just got new edge evo.
WOW what a difference 400 bucks and 15 minutes makes. Just got my Edge Evolution programer. I can't believe how much more power it unlocks, and the added fuel milage is incredible. can't wait to switch out my exhaust and put an AFE stage II on. I put the evo up on 100 hp for poops and giggles! and had a check engine light come on though, some thing about too much or not enough presssure. but it didn't say what kind of pressure, so i backed it down to the race setting. thanks for the suggestion of the Evo.

Quite honestly, I know fellows who ran theirs on race (or higher) without doing any mods, but I don't recommend it. I kept mine on tow until I did my exhaust, then only bumped it to race. I absolutely will not go to extreme until my gauges are hooked up. Yes, I know I'm being conservative, but I'd rather do that than buy a new turbo or worse.

Kodiak74- You don't have to worry too much about excessive boost, becaus when the SES light comes on the MAP sensor is detecting out of range and it defuels a little bit over the stock settings. I'd recommend getting some gauges,(pyro and boost) that way you can watch it all. As far as how much boost is too much, I wouldn't go over 30psi. But the MAP sensor could trigger the SES as low as 20-22psi. Get some gauges and watch it, and then if is triggering the SES at 20psi or so get a relief valve to go inline to the MAP sensor. It will blow off any excess boost past about 25psi. I honestly didn't know what those were for until about a week or two ago. I'm running about 29psi of boost and it kicks on the SES all the time. I ordered one of those valves, the only problem is having to relocate the boost line to the intake manifold.

Rjacks= Thanks for the info. I do have boost and pyro gauges all though i must admit I wasn't sure what kind of pressure to look out for. My temps haven't gone over 600 degrees since i have gotten it. What is the max temp I need to look out for? I don't really drive it that hard but I do get the wild hair once in awhile and want to be sure I don't burn up a turbo. Thanks again for all the info.

Well Kodiak...I am jealous!!! I was not well aware that there were all the options that there are on the market for a chip when I purchased mine, so when I got the super chips and then found out about this one, I wish that I had just saved my money for the one that you got. But, that is life, I should have done my research. Lesson learned here and I will someday upgrade to the Edge. Glad to hear that you are taking it safe and still enjoying it!
