Key Fob and lights

I don't know why I just noticed this, but on my 2012 F250 work truck when I unlock the doors, the taillights and brake light illuminates and when I lock it they flash.

On my 2002 when I unlock the doors, the dome light and the third brake light illuminates, nothing else and when I lock it the doors lock but nothing else unless I press it twice in which it honks.

Is this normal or is something screwy with my truck?

I don't like that the lights don't like up when unlocking, especially at night.

Thanks

Dave

Totally normal. Don't think they started having the parking lights come on till the '08 body style change

Dose anyone know why the fobs won't work on a 99 SD?

I want to do the key fob and wire in running board lights into the system.

I was just going to run the lights up to the map/dome light.. So when it unlocks they come on and the door opens they come on.

Its not just a 99 thing it has to do if you have keyless entry installed on your truck. To test if you do turn the key on and off like 6 times in 10 secs and the doors lock then unlock automatically signaling you have it installed.

If you want to wire running board lights ill save you time tracing wires, tap into the wire that runs along the drivers side floor wire bundle that is blue with a black tracer
