Broken Track Bar
Im not really sure how i broke my large diameter track bar. I noticed the truck felt a little different going down the road. Look underneath when i got home sure enough. I have never seen one break like that. Any ideas of the best spot to get a new one. I thought about welding it till i go home next month but i dont have a welder in VA. Its hard to find a place for me to work on my truck here.

WOW ya i haven't seen 1 break like that either.. I think a good weld would hold until you got home.. good luck

Maybe try sliding a piece of steel pipe on to increase the weld area and better support the break? Just an idea.

Yeah i was thinking of the best ways of doing it. Good idea. I could slide the pipe on move it out of the way weld the bar, then grind it down slide the bar over and then weld that. The thing is i need to find a welder haha.

Oh yeah...put out the word.
Start a thread on here titled "Need Help/Welder". See what happens. Where are you anyway? |

Where in Va? I saw "NAVY" in your profile. Coast I bet. That's where the big boats are, right? :-)

Well i ended up buying a new track bar. Got a 1" instead of the stock 3/4". About 120.00 bucks plus shipping. Cant wait to put it in. I hate having to drive my truck when i know its not 100%.
