Im looking at another truck.

I have a 96 F350 Super Cab and a 2000 Excursion. Mt wife drives the X and I work out of the 96. I was driving by a place Saturday and saw a 99 F350 Crew Cab Bually 4X4. I have heard that there is a 99 and a 99 1/2. I was wondering if that was true and how to tell them apart. Is the 99 that much less of a truck. Do the 1/2 models porform that much better.

Thanks for the information in advance.

Yes there is a difference in the early 99 and the 99.5 trucks. One dead give away would be if it has the powerstoke v8 badge on the fender instead of the door. This is not always the case though, some early 99's have the door badge. By looking at the build date of the truck will determine which it is.

That is a 99.5. It will have forged rods in the engine. Most will say that is a good one and I would have to agree.
