manufacture location

I own a 99 from Canada, manufactured, and origionally bought from there. It was imported when I bought it, had to have all the proper conversions done to it. What do you want to know specifically?

turbotime: what type of conversions did you have done? Mine is from the Canada also, I bought it used with 13 thousand miles on it. I believe I found out why it was gotten rid of by the first owner, it got real bad mileage, like 11 miles per empty or loaded, up hill or down, key on or off (NO -NO) that not right, I had to have the key on. Anyway I found the problem with it and told everybody that tried to help me with trying to find it. The wire harness was not assambled correctly and would lose the 5 volt refferance to the Map sensor, That made the PCM go into a back up mode and 11 mpg. If they had to do something to yours they must have done it to mine also? I would like to know what they did? Thanks Mike OB

Canada or USA

I just learned this with my daughters excursion. Hers was built in Canada and so is my F350 - her head lights where very dim and she ask me to ck them out. While I had it in the shop I discovered that the wires that went to the headlights was 22 gague, even the ground - it had started melting the plugs I installed the new upgrade plugs which was 16 gague wire and I added two more grounds at the headlights. Then I went and looked at my truck and found it had 16 ground 18 high beam and 20 low beam. then I found another Ford pickup built in the USA we where working on and ck it out - supprise all 16 gague wire at the headlights. My daughter called me back about two days later and told me her lights have never been that bright before. If your unit is built in Canada go ck the size of the wire at the headlights. Mike OB

Well you might have something on this !

I bought so called brighter bulbs for this reason , did not help , so will try the heavier wire , plugs seem fine , and with a superchip , we are getting 15.4 MPG , pulling 6,000 Lbs. of lawn equipment , so I am happy with that
But the lights are like driving with candles, the 1999 milky , plastic lens don't help either , my thoughts
Is there a harnes available ?
