smoking at start

so when my truck sits over night and i start it cold it just pores out white smoke, it started doing this when i got custom tunes from Diablo sport. and it will smoke for a good 3 minutes and if i touch the gas it will kinda sputter and seems like its loaded up with full. i was thinking that it it could be cause i had the guy make the tune aggressive at low end and i have a shim in my fuel regulator to increase fuel pressure, so i was wondering if i have to much fuel pressure and if it could be causing fuel to leak into the cylinders and cause the smoke at start up.

it does it in all weather conditions warm or cold but seems to do it worst when it cold.

if my glow plugs were bad would this cause it???

or anything else anybody can think of. my truck runs fine and all and i dont mind it to much just wondering y it just started doing it.

thanx james

when you say cold, what temp is it?

when i was living wyoming, my buddy's 02 psd wouldn't start on a cold morning with his superchips tuner, not sure why.

check your GP relay and GP's

like today i started it up at 1pm and it has been sitting sense 12am the low temp of last night was like 55* and when i started it it was like 68* out and it poffed white smoke for like 45 sec and stoped (not enough time to get to operating temp).

i was think it might be my glow plugs it has 185,000 miles on it and im pretty sure they have never been changed or anything

white smoke usally tells you the combustion chamber or fuel is cold. I would check the glow plug relay and intake heater...

What he said. ^^^^^

I also find it wierd that it only does it for 45 seconds then stops.
Return your truck to stock and see if it still does it.

kinda the thing tho i cant return my truck to stock at this moment cause when we were tuning Mike W from diablo just used his laptop and sent the tunes to my truck from his laptop, so sometime he has to comeback out and return my pcm back to stock then send my custom tunes to the predator. then i will load my custom tunes to the predator

next time i fill the tank im going to put it on the 110 HP tune and see if i get alittle better MPG and i will see if it stops the smoke.

but when its alittle colder like 50's it will take a few minutes to clear up. and i dont think it is cold enough to for the intake heater to even turn on
