Did you use power steering fluid or ATF? Lift and oversized tires? Sorry, on my phone so i can't see sigs. The tough turning when stopped is a common thing on these trucks due to the axle setup. My truck does it in spells and is worse now that im running a 12" wide wheel. Gotten to where i just man handle it for now. About the only solution I've found without doing axle swap and all is a hydro assist.

Btw, parts store replacements are notorious for dying on our trucks.

The owners manual calls for ATF. Check it for the type and do a flush. I bet that will help your problem.

Yep. PS fluid will tear up the pump. ATF is required. Doh. It happens.
