ATS transmissions?

Alright guys i am currenty getting ready rebuild my tranny and or purchase a new on (aftermarket). Anyways i'm not Donald Trump $, with that being said i was probably leaning towards a rebuilt one. But i found an ATS rebuilt transmission with steel gearing and all the goods for about 2100 and some change and a shop around here wants anywhere from 2k to 2500 to rebuild mine.

My question is have any of you heard or had experience with ATS transmissions?

or even any advice!

thanks
dave

when i was looking to rebulid mine tranny i asked about ATS and i talked to some people and a guy that sells ATS and other brands told me "i wouldn't put that $hit in my truck" then someone else told me they don't have good customer service and i've heard a lot of bad good luck though i'm sure other guys will tell you some more about it

That was probably me that told you that. I would definatly stay away from ATS products. For a Ford trans, Talk to Brian at Brians Truck Shop (BTS).

that sounds like a good deal. we sell quite a few of their transmissions and don't have any issues. they have some great guys over there too, wade, matt, justin just to name a few that are always willing to help.
i can only remember one off the top of my head, the guy had a Duramax and the one he got was bad, then sent a call tag w/ a new one and shipped it out right away. i'm gonna run their trans and turbo in my truck so...

I would look at BTS or John Wood.
John Wood Automotive - Home
Brians Truck Shop

I would stay away from ATS but I have only seen two blow up on the sled track and one on the drag strip, not like that is anything to worry about...LOL..

And those were all Ford trucks. You would never find an ATS in my truck unless someone swapped my John Wood for their POS ATS......And that would be bad.

$5100 at John's shop installed, only 13hours from my house. It included a bunch of billet parts, a new radiator, new thermostat(with housing) and new radiator hoses.
