I just thought of something, did you fix the oil leak that you posted about awhile back? If you did, where was it? If you didn't, have you figured out where?

No, I havent located it. I am finding small oil drips comming from under the valvecover gaskets. but I am not sure thats the major leak. Its comming from the back of the engine somewhere. I dunno from top or the bottom. All I know is the valley is dry, and so is the front of the engine. I am thinking its still the oil pan gasket and I cant stop it, cause where its leaking is the "U" in the back, between the block and the torque converter. you know where i am talking about? I cant get the permatex to stick there to seal it, plus its tight between the TC and the pan.

Also, I am leaking trans fluid from somewhere in the front of the truck near where the hard lines meet the rubber lines.

As a LAST resort, pull your trans. You may be leaking from the rear plug of the block. That would cause low oil pressure.

That is a worst case scenario.

It's in the cam area, I'm reading an obscure article. Never seen this first hand.

I have heard of that. I was hoping not to have to do it. But I think my trans is slipping anyhow. FCK! when it rains it pours! I may just look for a good rebuilt one near me. I wont have the cash for a while, but its something to look for. I am afraid to change the fluid for fear of slippage afterwards.

How much oil are you losing?

I'm a bit concerned about the oil pressure and "reman" engine. How many miles do you drive a day? Is the low pressure always the same?

well, i lose maybe 1/2 quart a week. but I only drive it maybe 3 times a week, and not more than 50-60 miles a week as of right now. its a pretty serious leak!
Heres from 5 pulls on the dyno to give you a idea:

Not as bad as I would have imagined. I'm out of ideas really. You have a lot of work to do.

I don't know if it's possible, but I'd start looking for a nice 97-00 short or long block. Build it up in your garage as you have money/time. It's what I'm doing... for completely different reasons.
