cold start up lope

my 01 psd has a bad lope on a cold start up, it last for about 15sec before it clears up, any ideas what the problem is?

Mine does it too, it normal i believe, its just cause the oil is thick, and since the injectors run on oil pressure it messes with them.

Free for ya anyway.

Lope is not normal on a stock or really anywhere near stock. Get your truck scanned for codes.

yep. change to a lighter oil (5w-40) or just live with it.

The HUEI system is designed to run on 15-40 oil. Under seriously cold environments, I can see using a lower viscosity synthetic oil ci/cj-4 oil.

You are in texas, you don't have cold starts like we do up north

My truck ran perfectly fine the last time I was in Milwaukee during the winter.

i dunno. Mine does it when its like 35 or lower, but it only lasts a few seconds. Unless its about 0, then it romps like a b!tch and stalls until it gets runnin for about a minute. it only ever does it if it's sat over night or all day. Never thew a code, never did any damage. Runs like a raped ape once its warmed up.

yeah thats pretty much the same thing mine does but i know its not normal because all my buddies have similiar trucks to mine and thiers dont do it. ive scanned for codes but never had any. could it be glow plugs or relay because it only does it when cold?

Glow plug system= Relay, Glow plugs, or weak batteries.
