Question 7.3 injector driver ?

hello just new to this forum, i need some help if you can i have 2001 7.3 and it is on it second injector driver in 75000 kms at $1500.00 it is killing me can any one tell me anything about this and why it does it the dealer said they just go . i have a hard time believing the dealer . thanks oly.

no info on why they just go out. the one on my 96er went out a few weeks ago. mine cost $1100. mine was the original factory installed part. the replacement part had a bunch of updates to it, should be more reliable than the original which i got 147K miles out of it. what really sucks, is that they are Ford specific, the IH version won't work in our rigs.

if you see a light at the end of the tunnel, it's probably just a photon torpedo

no it's a module

most of the time they get water/salt contamination

Early 99 F-350 crew cab short bed auto trans

Injector driver module (IDM) is the part of the computer that controls the injectors.

last time i looked they were every where on ebay for less than $300 if we are all talking about the same part the IDM that goes in the wheel well on the 99 up trucks i think.

no it is the module under the drivers fender skirt just got back from the dealer and to find out that it also took out some injector when this one went in less than 130 kms .
