Thank you to everyone that contributes to this forum

Being new to diesels, I registered on to learn as much as I could as quickly as possible. I recently purchased a 1999 F250 super duty in a package with a 5th wheel trailer. The truck runs fine, but seemed to use a lot of fuel. So off to the forums I went to see if there was anything that I could check

Consistently everyone said the EBP sensor and tube as well as boost leaks. Following info on the forums I built a boost leak tester and found a few leaks at the intercooler, turbo and the drivers side intake. Then it was time to check the EBP sensor and tube. The tube was cracked and plugged, the coupling was plugged as well as the sensor.

So tomorrow, I will order a new tube - I know I could make one, but I don't have the tools and have not had a lot of success in the past with flaring.

Thanks again to everyone that contributes. Without your help, I am sure that I would have been looking at a very large bill from the mechanic.

I was contemplating the purchase of an F-250 diesel pickup truck few years ago and learned a ton of stuff from this forum. Although I ended up buying a used Silverado half-ton (a gasser, of course), I know that I would someday like to own a diesel truck. I drive big rigs at work and used to own an old Navistar step van with the 7.3 IDI engine, so oil burners are in my blood.

You will find TONS and TONS of information here - and learn things you never even thought to ask about before. There are truly some experts here!

Even though I am not {yet} a Powerstroke owner, I often read a lot of the informative posts here. It is addictive, to say the least.
