another bad water pump

so came out today to see some drops under my truck.
leaned down and smelled it and its coolant.

just had the the water pump replaced less than 20k miles ago.
and about 3k miles ago i put in fleetrite elc.

i have the billet dieselsite thermo housing which isnt leaking.
the leak is coming from above the bottom pulley. i think its leaking from the weep hole. which is designed to leak when the pump is bad.

so any ideas why my water pump is going bad already?

im going to the shop that did it on monday to see what they are going to do for me. considering it took them three different times to fix the fuel leak on my dads 2000 7.3.

That should a been a flag, for the competence of that shop...

If you got about 4hrs, replace it yourself...Been using the AIRTEX now (knock on wood), for last 80k

When my next part store lifetime warranty pump fails I will switch to the International pump with the built in filter!

I would recommend going with a coolant filter when you put the new water pump in. DieselSite has a good coolant filter.

Also, they carry a lifetime warranty on their water pumps.

I am the same way; I do all the work on my truck unless it is paint & body. I let the professionals handle that.

I would re-use that coolant. Especially if you get a coolant filter.

Good luck!
