Re: 180,000 miles trans, tow with tune or stock?

I have around 180k on my stock trans and I and going to tow a small 16' fishing boat from Michigan to Florida. Should I tow with a tow tune with they PHP Hydra or stock tune? Obviously with this kind of mileage I am looking longevity!
Thanks.

Use your PHP tow tune. It is programmed to adjust shift points on your tranny which help it while towing. You fishing bout aint that heavy tho so i think you will be just fine either way.

As long as your tranny shifts normal now you will be good.

I tow around my 16ft on the stock tune and I forget it's even back there. If you're stop/go, sure. Whatever floats yer boat () With traveling that distance on highway miles, I'd play it safe and stay stock.

I would tow it in a tune, the way Jay explained it too me is that if I'm going to travel on the highway for a long distance, place the truck in one of the 80 or 100HP performance tune because the truck has more power makes it easier to travel down the road making it more fuel efficent. I really don't understand the logic behind that, but I've been using the 100HP performance around town, and I believe my fuel mileage is actually better than it was stock, I will know when I fill up exactly what was the mileage.

But like others have said a 16ft boat your not going to really know it's back there.
