When I pulled the switch out it was the mounting tab closest to the drivers do so the switch is a little loose but nothing big so the knob pulls out and they turn out, Im not gonna recommend just breaking the tabs, because I did it as a freak accident and it worked out well for me but I can promise it will work for everyone.

i saw a guy with them on also! stoped and asked he said he was running automatic?? so i dont know if that is the deal or not? i always run parking lights w/ fog even though i got a ticket
