Need Help On My Front Axle

I have a late 99, I know they changed the hubs and stuff in early 2000. I've heard you can buy all the new hubs and bearings and convert it over to the newer style. My question is can I do this with a 06 front end? I have a 06 axle, the doner truck has push button 4X4. I have manual locking hubs with the floor shifter. I would love to save a bunch of money and use the parts that I have. Will this 06 stuff work on my 99? I just want to rebuild my 99 stuff with the 06 stuff. Will it work? What will I have to change?
