Sporadic Smoking!

If i get on the throttle almost floored from a stop and keep that consistent throttle it will smoke heavy at first and fade out as it accelerates but then it will smoke heavy again and then none and it will poof black smoke here and there til i let off. Is something wrong? It just seems weird. I dont think it did this before. I just recently changed my fuel filter could that have triggered something?
