good to see you still here.

I personally dont think you would have saved much by going with the f 1500
the 150s i had didnt do that great with fuel milage..

I'd do what nasty said and buy a beater, much more bang for the buck..
i'd look for a little older vw tdi.. my sister and mom have them and the fuel milage is great, and then you still have your truck when you need it..

you can buy a lot of fuel for the difference in truck costs

02-03 F150 4x4 SuperCrew 5.4 w/ 75-100K (new style 04's price jumps $3K on NADA and KBB)
or
99-01 F250 4x4 Crew Cab 7.3 w/ 150K

although my calculations were
Gas $3.50/16MPG = .22
Diesel $4.00/18MPg = .22

So fuel costs balances out, + I gain much more power, durability and COOLNESS Don't really need diesel, I only tow about 3200# boat but if it works out economically??

+ It seems everyone is dropping diesels, I see the in the lots everywhere, good deals, maybe there not doing the math.. Just did a little value matrix using KBB and NADA

03 F150 4x4 SuperCrew w/ 100K $14070
04 F150 4x4 SuperCrew w/ 100K $17485

00 F250 4x4 Crew Cab w/ 150K $15485
01 F250 4x4 Crew Cab w/ 150K $17070

So it looks like I can buy at the same price and get about same or better $/mile... Figure 100K is alot for gasser, but 150K is nothing for diesel.

but after researching site, how I hear the ULSD is greatly affecting MPG, some are claiming at least a 2-4MPG loss. Maybe thats why people are dumping them.

Any comments? What do you guys think?
I think the new ULSD is affecting mpg. I've been running off-road lately and I have been getting over 420-430 miles per tank. When I would fill up at the pump I would get maybe 370 to 380.

And as far as weekly driving.... in the F150 I went through about $40-$50 (back when regular was $2) every two weeks and now I only go through about $25 every two weeks.

Whatever you decide though, you'd better not leave here!!!!!!!!!!
thats why i got rid of my F150 and got my 02 F350. the gasser couldnt get out of its own way and i get dang near twice the mileage in diesel. just picked up my 02 F350 CC Lariat Dually with 59K on her for 22K a month and a half ago. and its not my DD so thats how i can afford it. whenever i pulled my quads with the gasser i even had to leave it out of OD. this thing idles while towing. I LOVE IT..........
