Hard Starting in Summer

There's a lot of posts on here about hard starting in winter. Well, my truck starts hard now. Harder then it did last winter. Any suggestions? GP? GPR?

I'm the only one in the civilized world that has had this problem? Replaced the GPR, didn't help. Come on, someone must know something.

The GPR/GPs aren't doing anything much at these temps, it's not going to be that...

Here's what's different in the summer and on a warm engine. The OIL. It's thinner and, if you're running Synthetic 5W it's really thin and can be an early indication of a failing HiPres Oil system. What oil are you using?

Also, this could just be a coincidence. Something's wrong and it just hasn't shown-up 'till now. You could have hard starting this Winter too...

Best thing is going to be to get it on a good scanner (NOT one of those Generic OBD-II ones) to monitor what's going on as you start. Otherwise you're just chasing your tail You can monitor the sensors and make sure your system is doing what it supposed to do. Find someone with a professional diagnostic tool or pay for a scan by someone who knows these engines. It will save you Time & Money in the long run with your kind of issue.

Thanks for the reply. I use Motorcraft 15W40. This morning I let it cycle 2 times and it fired right up. I'll see what it does tomorrow morning cycling it once like I normally do.

15W means, if you're suffering from low injection oil pressure, you have real problems.

Forget "cycling", the GPs don't turn-off when the light does you can just leave the key on. In fact, sometimes the light is ON and the GPs are not. It's just a timer not a real indicator.

BUT, you don't need them at ALL, at these temps, if everything else is right (typically, peoples GPR completely fail now and they don't even know it until November comes). Something else is bad...

Just another angle to consider, could it be something to the fuel side?
Any way to check fuel pressure?
Also, these things will turn over and over but will not fire if the batteries are weak.
