Plasti dip your idm to protect it?

Ok I was talking to a few people about protecting the idm. I've heard stories about idm's getting wet then getting replaced and was curious about using plasti dip to nip that possible future problem in the butt.
I understand you wouldn't be able to dip the idm completely because there's the harness connection point but otherwise I can't think of any other issue.
Thoughts?
