How can I turn the lights out????
I'm not much into electrical wiring on vehicles so I thought maybe someone could help me out.
Is there a way to shut off the interior lights when the doors open. Basically, If the family get home late and the kids are a sleep in the back, I'd like to be able to open the doors without the lights turning on. I was thinking something like a push button switch that would bypass the power to the lights. Again......not to good with wiring and I don't know if it's possible, so ANY feedback would be great! Thanks |

hey i took out my dome lights.. the bulbs that come on when the doors open. i still have the light bulbs in tho to turn them on manually with the button. you can do this.. but i think your looking for a way to hit a switch when they are sleeping and what not.. but taking out the lights that automatically turn on with the doors will work |

easy fix, install a switch between the dome light circuit and the main feed wire.
put a switch on the dash or wherever you like. thats it. the switch can be a open closed type switch. First get a schematic Locate the wire colors and locations. cut the main feed wire. Install a switch. test, celebrate. tools: test light or multimeter, Wire cutters Wire crimpers, electrical tape. Supplies.: 1 Off/On Switch, Connectors or just tape together, maybey some wire. speaker wire will work. perhaps a drill to mount the switch. Last edited by A8050266 : 04-05-2008 at 04:10 PM. |
