Question Transmission after pwr/disconnect???

I heard when you disconnect the power from the batteries, it takes a few hundred miles for the computer to set the shifting??? Is this true?

The transmission is not adaptive learning. All of its controls are in the chip and the tuning does not get erased when you unhook the batteries.
